hello all:
I have built a form that spawns a child window using js. This child window
works off of one script (url), and works through a series of 3 forms to help
the user narrow down a search for an educational standard (stored in a mysql
db)...anyways, at the conclusion of the 3 forms, I want to put the selected
value from the child window on to the parent form...
I figured out how to do this in js and even have it working in a couple of test
forms, but when I put it into my php forms, it will not work. There is even
some very strange things that are happening:
1)if I try to see the source of the child window (by the time the 3rd posting
has occured to narrow the search of standards), I get:
<TITLE>Missing Post reply data</TITLE>
<H1>Data Missing</H1>
This document resulted from a POST operation and has expired from the cache.
If you wish you can repost the form data to recreate the document by pressing
the <b>reload</b> button.
Of course, a reload does nothing...so I have no way of knowing what actually
got sent to the browser!
I have set a button on the form to activate a function that puts the value from
the child window on to the parent window and closes the child window, but if I
press the button, I get sent back to the default (first) form...but there is NO
ACTION= statement on that form...so how the hell does it know to go back to the
default, and why isn't it obeying the javascript command to run function and
close window?
Any ideas would really help because I am going nuts!!
thanks
Luis
