Dont know if you need to cross post to every list...
Are you using Persistant connections? Persistant connections ignore the
logoff.
You'll also notice you have 1 connection per Apache child process so you
could actually have eight or so connections at one time.
It shouldnt be a problem unless you have a process on Oracle that requires
all connections to be closed (like some poor backup scripts ive seen)

Subject: Oracle
Hello,
I would be so pleased if you can help me with this:
My problem is with php and oracle. I´m using the oci connections, and my
problem is that although I use ocilogoff, the connection in the oracle
Instance Manager doesn´t seem to desapear
I´m getting crazy, I don´t know how oci works internally, and why the
connection is not freed.
My hardware configuration is :
- Linux, Apache(Web Server) is where the php files are running
- NT Oracle 8 (Database Server)
they are connected using oci, it works very good, but the thing that
worries
me is the not closed connections.
If you can help me, I will be so pleased to you. If you dont know why,
may
be you can tell me some good url where to find informations about it.
Best Regards
