Hi,
I had similar problem with MySQL : the DSO couldn't find two symbols
-compress and uncompress. The problem was (I suppose) that headers didn't match
exactly the libs.
The way I used to solve the problem is the following:
-first do not build PHP as a DSO -you can do this later, when it will work.
-when PHP is ok, build apache and activate the module : --activate-module.
-then if there's unresolved symbols -and there is- the build of apache should
fail, but the difference is that you'll have more explicit error messages.Like
the caller of the function.
After this, the only method I found to make PHP working was to build MySQL from
the source, and restart the process from the beginning. It's really strange, and
the first time I dealt with such a problem...
You can also try -I don't know if you have this on FreeBSD- the command:
ldd -d libphp4.so
It should display the broken dependencies.
bye
