This is ajust a thought out of left field.... Could you add a fields for
when a record in each table was modified which is timestamped unpon each
and every modification.
When you wish to sync. the databases, perform a select of the sort below
select * from table where modification_date < now(); >> table_dump
Then on the web server psql < tabledump
just a thought never tried this...

Othewise you may have to port the databse over to mysql as it is
supported out of the box....
