Can't select database after uploading file.

I sent a message seeking help earlier and have been able to narrow it down to what's causing the problem...but I don't know the solution. I have a form. Here's an excerpt from the form, the syntax of which I got from somewhere online: <FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" ACTION="connect.php3" METHOD=POST>....etc. If I use the ENCTYPE here to pass the file to me, I can't select my mysql database for some reason. Here's the error: Warning: 1 is not a MySQL link index in /home/xxxxx/xxxxx-www/fileupload/connect.php3 on line 13 Cannot connect If I take the ENCTYPE out, I can't get the file I just uploaded. Here's the error: Warning: Unable to open 'G:\sage\xxxxx\Customers_AddressBook.txt' for reading: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxx/xxxxx-www/fileupload/upbroke.php3 on line 18 Your copy failed It hasn't converted the file name over to the username variable it ultimately becomes and the files MIA. Does anyone have any idea? I'm stuck.... Thanx in advance. CJ Romberger
