On 2000-11-10, Philip J. Sokolowski stated: } Thanks for the advice, but it gets worse... } } I'm using IIS, not apache... Arghhh..... I'm sorry. :( } And unfortunately, I *have* to use IIS... Any other advice? Well, you might want to e.mail Andy [the guy I cc'd the reply to you to]; I just recently got access to IIS 4.0, but haven't installed PHP4 on that yet. Are you using the version of php found at http://www.php4win.de/ ? Anyway, Andy does run both IIS and apache, I believe, so he might be a better source of info on this. I'm hoping to get php4 installed on IIS soon [i don't like IIS, but i'm developing something that will need to run on both apache and IIS, so i gotta do it]. } Maybe the need for Oracle 8.1.6 client is a requirement regardless of the } web server? I have access to another NT box w/ the Oracle 8.1.6 client } already on it. I can try and test my code there... Yes, that is true - I'm sure of that. But certain parts of the client need to be installed. More specificly, the OCI8 part. Even if you do the "developer" install, it won't install OCI8. You must do a complete custom install. A hint is to install OCI8 as well as SQL+ and after it's done, try to connect to your db via SQL+. If you can, there's a darn good chance that you'll be able to via php and IIS... HTH, /vjl/
