Hello hae-jung. 1) If "A" is not supported directly by PHP, your best choice will be to use ODBC. 2) There are many ODBC drivers available for Linux, but you will need an ODBC driver for the "A" database, which if it's a rare database is less probable. You could look at www.easysoft.com - they make ODBC-ODBC Bridge (OOB). OOB is a multi-tier ODBC bridge that will let you use remote ODBC datasources provided that: A) the client OS has an OOB client (and there is one for Linux), and B) The "A" database has ODBC drivers on its host operating system or any other operating system (so, if "A" runs on Windows, there must be a Windows ODBC driver for the "A" database) C) the OS on which your "A" database run has a server-side OOB component available (the www.easysoft.com site has a large list of host OS support). Once all that is installed, your client computer can access all the ODBC DSNs that are defined on the server that is hosting the server component of OOB and act as if they were locally defined. PHP 4 also supports OOB directly if you compile it with the "--with-esoob" configuration option. Good luck.
