Hi, The protocol specific error code 111 means following: The connection has been refused. If you are trying to connect to the database, check that the database manager and TCP/IP protocol support at the server have been started successfully. If using SOCKS protocol support, also ensure that TCP/IP protocol support at the SOCKS server has been started successfully. So, first of all you will have to check, if the listener process is started on the AS/400. (I'm not an AS/400 expert - but on AIX, Linux or NT the DB2 environment variable DB2COMM has to be set to TCPIP at the instance level. Actually you can set it globally, though.) If this still does not help, look at the db2diag.log. There might be other useful information. If the information in the db2diag.log is not sufficient, set diaglevel to 4: db2 update dbm cfg using diaglevel 4 I hope this will help.
