Hi all,
We're using mysql_pconnect() for our db connections, and have seen a few
strange items, one of them being the apparent non-reuse of existing
connections (persistent connections are allowed). Has anyone else seen
similar behavior? Our wait_timout is set to 8 hours (too high?), and
max_connections to 250 (too low?)
Also, is the overhead in making the connections great enough to warrant
persistent connections, or would we be better off with normal connections?
What's the load on the machine for keeping connections open (memory
constraints, etc).
versions:
PHP 3.0.12
MySQL 3.22.32
Thanks, any feedback would be appreciated..
Michael
