RE: [PHP-DB] OCI8 and Listener

The server (that is running the actual Oracle Database) has to have the listener running. If you can connect with SQL*Plus (the Oracle provided SQL interpreter) then you should be able to connect with PHP. Not sure what the error you are receiving is though as I don't have a reference here. Try searching google for that error...
