My installation:
Red Hat 6
Kernel 2.2.9
Sybase Adaptive Server 11.0.3.3
Apache 1.3.12
php 3.0.14 (as a static module)
When using sybase_pconnect(), I would routinely get a 'unable to
connect' error. Changing to sybase_connect() completely fixed
the problem. After I upgraded to php 4.0.0, the reverse
happened: sybase_pconnect() worked, sybase_connect() did not!
Since I would rather use sybase_pconnect(), I am not in a bad
situation. However, I am wondering if there might be some
underlying problem that could bite me later on.
Any thoughts, anyone?
Yours in confusion,
Carroll Barrett
