OCIFreeStatement with OCIPLogon ?

Hi,
I use php-4 with Oracle 8.1.6.1, on RH6.2
I want to access the columns by name, so I use OCIFetchInto with OCI_ASSOC
mode.
Is this the way you would recommend ? Is it very time consuming ?
But the actual question is if I have to do a OCIFreeStatement at the end of
the php
code (note that I open persistent conexions with OCIPLogon).
