Are you running this on a Unix server? If you are you could probably handle
hundreds of thousands of hits a day with a single PIII and 128 megs of RAM.
If you're not serving a mass amount of hits (tens of thousands) the you have
no reason to be concerned.

Because I'm not a Perl developer I only focus on PHP.
Do you know how many RAM use PHP for each hit ?
And if we're using database access, How is affected the performance of our
web site?
