Further update on the connect problem. I looked at the php.ini
file; there were no entries having to do with sybase connection
retries/timing. I ran through the Sybase configuration utility;
no entries there either. So, I decided to go back and test
different sections of the application to see if I could determine
any common cause of the failure. Guess what? Now I can't get
the !@#$%^&*() thing to fail.
Aren't computers wonderful?
While frothing at the mouth because of this problem, I came up
with some new functions I would like to see in php version 4.1 or
whatever:
sasd() - seek and scar disk
rwtafo() - rewind tape and fall off
hacf() - halt and catch fire (my favorite)
Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for allowing me to vent.
