actually I'm experiencing this in IE. and the info is being sent thru a 'hard-coded' query-string. so post isn't an option :-( but thanks for the reply! eric³ :':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':': :.: web developer . pixel pusher :.: http://www.GoGraphics.com :.: http://users.drak.net/zenlab :.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: :.: www.ScreamDesign.com :.: the learning source for the next generation. :.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Hall" <rhall@basetech.com> To: "PHP DB" <php-db@lists.php.net> Sent: Friday, June 30, 2000 10:49 AM Subject: RE: [PHP-DB] refreshing index page of MySQL fed web application Make sure you're using Post to edit data, and not Get. If that doesn't work, try switching browsers. NN hangs on to old data and has to be prompted to reload in situations where IE reloads automatically. I maintain a web page with the same problem--but only with NN. (For reasons too complicated to explain, I'm not allowed to make any attempt to fix it.) I created a web application that allows us to keep up a dynamic schedule on our intranet. I've got everything worked out except one detail. When ever I edit / add items to the schedule, and perform the SQL Query, then click the link to return to the main index page - I have to hit refresh on my browser to see the new / changed data! What am I doing wrong? I'm freeing up the resultset(s) after I pull the data in. and even closing the current MySQL connection (to try to force a new connection when the page is revisited) - I even added pragma-nocahce and expiration meta tags to the document just to be safe! Has anyone else ran into this problem? eric³ :':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':':': :.: web developer . pixel pusher :.: http://www.GoGraphics.com :.: http://users.drak.net/zenlab :.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: :.: www.ScreamDesign.com :.: the learning source for the next generation. :.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: </? echo "source available on request" ?> -- PHP Database Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-db-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-db-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net -- PHP Database Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-db-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-db-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
