In MS-SQL it is not that simple. You need to use server side cursors
to just retrieve the rows you want.
You may want to try Metabase database abstraction package that comes with a
MS-SQL driver that supports the retrieval of runtime defined row ranges.
With Metabase it is as simple as calling the function
MetabaseSetRowRange($database,$start,$limit); before executing your select
queries. Take a look here:
