Oracle and LDAP

We've got at problem. We want to use both LDAP and Oracle in PHP4, but when we call an ldap function after an Oracle funcrion, the process forks. Our best educated guess is that there is some kind of internal LDAP-support in the Oracle delevoplent libraries that came with Oracle 8. Has anyone sucessfully compiles and used Oracle and LDAP together?
