Hi! You need to use --with-oci8, not --with-oracle when you compile. --with-oracle is for the (now outdated) Oracle 7.3.x libraries. Also make sure that you have the ORACLE_HOME environment variable set correctly, and keep it set correctly for the nobody user (or whoever runs your apache server). I put it in /etc/profile (or rather, as a .sh file in /etc/profile.d that is run by /etc/profile, but that is another subject). Also note that a typical Oracle installation does *not* include the OCI libraries, you need to specify that you want to install the OCI Development Kit (I think that's the name of it) when you use Oracle's Universal Installer (./runInstaller). I've done this multiple times, so if you need more help, don't hesitate to email me. ---------- Henning Kilset Pedersen Anarchy Online Server Operations Oracle, PHP, e-Commerce etc. Funcom Oslo AS phone + 47 22 92 58 40 cell + 47 91 66 40 30 email henning.pedersen@funcom.com -----Original Message----- From: carlos ospina [mailto:carloso@ccb.org.co] Sent: 30. april 2001 17:31 To: php-db@lists.php.net Subject: [PHP-DB] Oracle 8i and php4 Hello, I'm trying to compile PHP 4.0.4pl1 for apache with oracle support. It is asking for some .h libraries... oci.h and others. We've found some of them in a samples directory on the oracle server, but when we use them we get segmentation faults! So, anybody has installed php with oracle 8i support? where did you find the .h files?
