I won't post another bug report but:
(a) when I look at the configure script, it would seem that
/usr/include/mysql/mysql.h is tested for. I do not understand why it would
fail in my case.
(b) the example for Quick Install that is given in INSTALL file uses
--with-mysql
perhaps it is worth mentioning near there that one should check about the
location of mysql.
(c) later in the INSTALL file (line 74), it mentions about passing a parameter
for another location. Perhaps it is worth making a special MySQL section in
the install and list explictly which locations are checked for. And also to
specify there that it is base directory is the information that should be
passed.
