Bug description: Not so much a bug as an incompatibility
The new version of GD (gd-1.6.3) no longer supports GIF files (that damn annoying patents thing
again); they've switched it to PNG.
Which means you get:
modules/php4/libphp4.a(ext_gd_gd.o): In function `php3_imagecreatefromgif':
