Hello,
First, thank you everyone that responded to my question, about parsing out
a string paul*geroge*john*ringo ... the explode function did the trick
nicely. Also, this list is great the dialogue and questions from my frist
day I have learned several new things ... this php newbie thanks you all.
I have two questions:
1) I have text files which I read into a php page and they create the
html nicely .... example would be a link or lists of links which I would
place inside a cell on a table
$line = "<CENTER><A HREF="www.somewhere.com>Click Here to go
Somewhere</A></CENTER>"
print("$line \n");
How do I get this to display the actual text and not convert it into HTML
that works ... What I am trying to do is display the contents of a file
which is in fact html code, without the html doing it's thing.
2) I am sure this will open up a can of worms (and that it has already
been discussed many times) I really just need a couple of simple examples
or links to examples that I can build from..
I think I need two php examples ....
One which allows me to add new users to my system, I want to be able to
enter a screen name, Password, and a status code 0 - 5 and then save this
into a file which will then be accessed by ...
Two, a php page which asks the user to enter the screenname and password,
validate that they are okay to use this page, and create 2 session
variables $screenname and $status
Again, I know there are at least 100 ways to do this, can someone point me
to one or two really simply approaches.
Thank you all in Advance,
Paul Gruhn
