One final update:
It is *not* using the session configuration variables I've placed in httpd.conf. Here's
the config block from httpd.conf:
<IfModule mod_php4.c>
php_admin_flag magic_quotes_gpc on
php_admin_flag magic_quotes_runtime off
php_admin_flag display_errors on
php_admin_value session.name mpsid
php_admin_flag session.auto_start on
</IfModule>
The $SID is coming out as PHPSESSID, no matter what I set session.name to, and it's not
auto-starting.
