I've been looking for a way to provide content to other sites using PHP as
my base programming language. Recently I came across an idea to use the
JavaScript "src" attribute to include content in one page from a totally
different site.
After some digging I was able to find a way to do this. So, if you're
interested in this, drop me a line. I'll be working on a small article
shortly, but basically you can see the effects at the URL
http://www.copygenie.com/index.asp in the left
column at the bottom. There
is a "StatAddict Survey" section that is entirely generated using the source
code:
<script language="JavaScript"
src="http://www.stataddict.com/jsinclude.php3">
</script>
You can view the source yourself to see that the actual content being
displayed is NOT in the source for the page. Everything there is generated
using an included JavaScript file. The interesting thing is that the
JavaScript itself is generated using PHP. You can even see that the name of
the include file is 'jsinclude.php3'.
I thought there might be some people out there who would be interested in
something like this.
