Well, you have to choose one version as your primary C
library.
The problem is the dynamic linker. An executable contains a
reference to the dynamic linker, and this reference includes
only the major version number of the dynamic linker (thus,
glibc-2.0 and 2.1 conflict, since both have the same major
version number).
So, if the Oracle executables are linked against glibc-2.1,
and your /lib/ld-linux.so.2 points towards glibc-2.0,
segfaults are likely to occur.
To check it, ls -l /lib/ld-linux.so.2. If it is glibc-2.0,
it will be a symlink to ld-2.0.x.so, otherwise it will be
a symlink to ld-2.1.x.so.
