php3_module_entry and other structures

Has anyone seen any documentation on the 'php3_module_entry' structure and
'function_entry' structure as used in PHP3 for building modules ?
I am curious to know what the various elements are used for, the sequence
and timing of function execution, etc, and I can't find anything in the
manual or text files.
At the rate I'm going, its going to take a week just to work out how all
this stuff links together.
