Hello,
This is message is an invitation to all developers that have implemented
sites that the promote the use of PHP, like PHP code repositories, PHP
articles, PHP forums, etc.. This invitation obviously includes those
envolved in the development of PHP itself.
The subject of the invitation is to organize and promote the PHP related
content that each of us has been providing. Most of us have been spending
a lot of our free time to provide content of value to the PHP community.
At least some of us have spent some money to put up sites to provide such
content for free to the community.
If we organize we may get enough funds, for instance from advertising, to
provide better service to the community without having to put money from
our pockets and maybe without spending so much time of our own by hiring
helping staff.
These are just a few ideas that may be discussed among us. We have already
gathered a few interested developers of some proeminent PHP valued content
sites but we need to gather as many more of us as possible.
If you have been providing a site or some other service of value to the PHP
community, don't be shy, and invite yourself by mailing me (mlemos@acm.org)
so you can be joined to the discussions.
Regards,
Manuel Lemos
