From: jmat@firewind.net
Operating system: Linux 2.2.13
PHP version: 4.0 Latest CVS (24/11/1999)
PHP Bug Type: Reproduceable crash
Bug description: Crashes on GD calls
This code:
<?php
Header("Content-type: image/gif");
$im = imagecreate(400,30);
$black = ImageColorAllocate($im, 0,0,0);
$white = ImageColorAllocate($im, 255,255,255);
ImageTTFText($im, 20, 0, 10, 20, $white, "/web/a/ttf/arial.ttf", "Testing... Omega:
Ω");
ImageGif($im);
ImageDestroy($im);
?>
Kills PHP with a segmentation fault. It didn't do this prior to 11/9/99 CVS's... it
worked fine, without any problems.. I can't go back to CVS before 11/9, as there is a big
problem with $a="hello";$a[1]="E"; :)
The backtrace looks useless, but maybe it will help y'all:

These are 100% clean installs. I rm'd everything, re-checked-out the CVS, redownloaded the GD
libraries, and the apache source. Same results.
