The w3c specifies that the macro is to be processed by > the "default scripting engine," why couldn't that be PHP? I suppose it could, but where does that get set? If there was something that said that all macro entities from now on should now be treated as PHP entities, it would be workable. Without that I find it vague. And I don't see why &(expr); is all that much better than <?expr?> anyway. Same number of chars and there is no chance of confusion. -Rasmus
