legacy database conncet with php

Hello php-developers, I'm normally subscribed to the php user list, but this is an question about adding new functions to php. In our company we use Acu Cobol Vision File System as the standard software database. It would be very nice to have access to this data. Via the third-party vendors of Acu Cobol I found a sql-engine called U/SQL from Transoft Corp (www.transoft.com) which supports very good access to this legacy database. The also deliver two lib's (libodbc.a and libsqlodbc.a) to connect to the sql-engine from any c-programm. I can't "speek" C, so for me it is very difficult to add the functionality to php. Is there any developer out there who will implement this feature to php ? I will have to check, if payment of this work is possible by my company. But first I want to know, if there is anybody who is willing to do this ! At the moment, transoft supports all common unix systems (except linux; announced beginning of next year). I have a U/SQL evaluation version for SCO Open Server 3.2v5.0.4. Many thanks and excuse me to use this list for that question !
