Hiya I'm trying to build php fresh from cvs... first of all i get these errors when copmpiling other programs: checking dynamic linker characteristics... Linux ld.so checking if libtool supports shared libraries... yes *** Warning: the command libtool uses to detect shared libraries, *** /usr/bin/file, produces output that libtool cannot recognize. *** The result is that libtool may fail to recognize shared libraries *** as such. This will affect the creation of libtool libraries that *** depend on shared libraries, but programs linked with such libtool *** libraries will work regardless of this problem. Nevertheless, you *** may want to report the problem to your system manager and/or to *** bug-libtool@gnu.org checking whether to build shared libraries... yes when i try buildconf in php4 dir i get this: rebuilding Makefile.in's automake: configure.in: installing `./install-sh' automake: configure.in: installing `./mkinstalldirs' automake: configure.in: installing `./missing' configure.in: 63: required file `./php_config.h.in' not found Makefile.am:4: required directory ./libzend does not exist rebuilding acconfig.h buildconf: checking installation... buildconf: autoconf version 2.13 (ok) buildconf: automake version 1.4 (ok) buildconf: libtool version 1.3.3 (ok) automake: configure.in: installing `./install-sh' automake: configure.in: installing `./mkinstalldirs' automake: configure.in: installing `./missing' configure.in: 33: required file `./ltconfig' not found configure.in: 6: required file `./zend_config.h.in' not found automake: configure.in: installing `./install-sh' automake: configure.in: installing `./mkinstalldirs' automake: configure.in: installing `./missing' libzend and TSRM are in ../ BTW i tried to compile beta3 but apache gives this error: maybe that can explain things: (guess not seems like mysql did wrong but better to much info then to less) hmmm oh yeah running redhat 6.1 [root@server bin]# /home/apache/bin/apachectl start /home/apache/bin/httpd: error in loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory /home/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started Wico
