PHP templating solution?

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that there might be a templating
solution built into PHP soon. Was this a figment of my imagination (in
which case we'll need to roll our own), or is it true? If true, does
anyone have more info? Basically, we are looking for something like
"fasttemplate", except faster (compiled, caches templates) and possibly
with limited conditional/include support.
