hi - there might be a problem in php and/or apache or in the oracle-libs. we had similar reports -but- others are using php+oci8 on high volumne sites with no trouble. i am willing to investigate, but i cannot reproduce this kind of problems here, and nobody has manages to a) send me a working (=breaking) testcase or b) given me acces to a system where he could show me the problem. so - the best would be if cou could create a test-environment and *one* *short* script that produces this problem / maybe using the ab test-tool (part of the apache-dist). it looks to me like a memory overwrite somewhere - a working solution could be not to use the BEQ interface to oracle but instead going thru the listener process (ipc or tcp). in beq-mode oracle and apache/php communicate via shared-memory, if any php/apache function writes "by accident" into this area you can expect the unexpected to happen. again - (i hate to repeat myself over and over again) - if we can reproduce a problem and nail down a bug -> we'll fix it! tc On 7 Jan 2000 luvan@iname.com wrote: > From: luvan@iname.com > Operating system: Linux 2.2.5 > PHP version: 3.0.12 > PHP Bug Type: Oracle related > Bug description: Errors while connecting Oracle database > > We are using Oracle 8.0.5 and Apache 1.3.9 and we have following problems: > > 1.
