Question:
Can I compile the core PHP engine on a non-POSIX, non-UNIX embedded system?
Background:
I have a web server running on an embedded microprocessor system for
industrial automation. I need a hypertext preprocessor, PHP would be an
excellent choice. However, this is not a UNIX-type OS, and I'd like to do
without a file system. I do not need all the modules, in principle, a macro
preprocessor would do.
But I really want to try porting the pure PHP language engine to my machine.
Ideally, I would have a call like
char* PHP_Evaluate(char*)
that evaluates a HTML page with embedded PHP scripts and returns the
resulting page.
Any pointers on
- where to begin looking
- how much effort this would be
would help a lot.
Stefan.
