It misbehaves for me too, using beta 3 on Linux and Solaris. For me
the effect is that I don't get any output after the repeat. If I try

echo str_repeat("a", 3);
echo "abc";
?>
def
I only get abc, if I try repeat with an empty string I get the def.

I should try the CVS too I suppose, just wanted to let you know that Leon
isn't the only one, and that I see different misbehaviour.
