PHP 4.0 Bug #3629: failure to make (error in crypt.lo function php_if_crypt)

From: bigmudcake@yahoo.com Operating system: Redhat Linux 6.0 (Kernel 2.2.14) PHP version: 4.0 Beta 4 Patch Level 1 PHP Bug Type: Compile Failure Bug description: failure to make (error in crypt.lo function php_if_crypt) I am unable to compile php-4.0b4pl1 , during the make, it drops out with the following error gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I/server/src/php-4.0b4pl1/ext/standard -I../.. -I../../ Zend -I/server/src/php-4.0b4pl1 -I/server/src/apache_1.3.11/src/include -I/serve r/src/apache_1.3.11/src/os/unix -I/server/src/mysql-3.22.32/include -D_REENTRAN T -O3 -m486 -I/server/src/openssl-0.9.4/include -g -Wall -c crypt.c && touch crypt.lo crypt.c: In function `php_if_crypt': crypt.c:120: `PHP3_MAX_SALT_LEN' undeclared (first use in this function) crypt.c:120: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once crypt.c:120: for each function it appears in.) crypt.c:120: size of array `salt' has non-integer type make[3]: *** [crypt.lo] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/server/src/php-4.0b4pl1/ext/standard' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/server/src/php-4.0b4pl1/ext/standard' make[1]: *** [all] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/server/src/php-4.0b4pl1/ext' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 I used the following commands to compile (after doing a ./configure in apache first) CFLAGS='-O3 -m486 -I/server/src/openssl-0.9.4/include' \ ./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.11 --enable-track-vars \ --with-mysql=../mysql-3.22.32 make please note that the previous build (php-4.0b3) compiled successfully using exact same environment and commands to configure and make, and is operating quite successfully.
