Ok, here is a more complete description, after more investigation :
If I have /opt/SUNspro/bin ahead in my PATH + CC=cc in the
environment so as to compile with sun compiler, ANSI header
files are not found by configure, and memcpy is not found either.
Then at compile time it is found and the compilation fails.
chailly99 /tmp/php-3.0.15; PATH=/opt/SUNWspro/bin:$PATH type cc
cc is /opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc
chailly99 /tmp/php-3.0.15; PATH=/opt/SUNWspro/bin:$PATH CC=cc ./configure
creating cache ./config.cache
[...]
checking for ANSI C header files... no
[...]
checking for vprintf... no
checking for _doprnt... no
checking for memcpy... no
checking for memmove... no
checking for strdup... no
checking for strerror... no
If I use gcc it's okay.
So it seems that "configure" does not like sun C version 5.0 compiler
for some obscure reasons, maybe related to part of my environment.
