I am glad that you guys have this mailing list. I just joined it today because I had the following problem.
I installed Red Hat 6.1 two weeks ago and as you know, it comes with apache 1.3.9 and php3 already ready to go with enabling the AddModule and other stuff in the config files. Well, I installed mysql, but I have no clue how to make php recognize it since mysql was installed AFTER the fact. Is there a way to configure it without having to recompile php so it can work with mysql?
My second part of the question is related to the fact that I DID go ahead and downloaded php-3.0.15 and php-4.0b3 and compiled them. I did not get any .so files. What am I supposed to do? This is what I have:
I have attached two files each one showing the files that I have after comiling both php3 and php4
# ls /etc/httpd/modules/php3/
Makefile.libdir libmodphp3.a mod_php3.c mod_php3.h Makefile.tmpl libphp3.module mod_php3.exp php_version.h============================================================= # ls /etc/httpd/modules/php4/
Makefile.libdir libmodphp4.a mod_php4.c mod_php4.h mod_php4.o Makefile.tmpl libphp4.module mod_php4.exp mod_php4.lo============================================================= What am I supposed to do? I made some assumtions that may be the .a files are equivelant to the .so files so I went ahead and used libmodphp3.a and libmodphp4 ..... But httpd would restart to improper headers... I appreciate any help. Thanks Nour ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
