There are 2 different issues you are asking about here.
The PHP bug has been fixed. You can get the fix by (as I mentioned
when closing the bug) updating your version of PHP, either by CVS (see
http://www.php.net/cvs.php3 if you do not know what that
means) or by
visiting snaps.php.net and downloading a snap shot. This will require
rebuilding PHP, but it should fix the compile bug.
The second issue is using FreeTDS 0.50. There were several bugs in the
database RE: Sybase that I closed bcz they were only seen when using
FreeTDS as the client library. There is not much the PHP team can do
about FreeTDS bugs at this point, and the sheer fact that FreeTDS is
at version .50 should be a clue that it is not stable. Best of luck.
