Forgive me if there's some standard fix for this I'm unaware of. I'm trying
to get PHP4 to enable imagepng, but the test is failing. GD itself is
detected, and all the GD functions are available except imagepng and
imagecreatefrompng. The line that compiles the test program is:
gcc -o conftest -g -O2 conftest.c -lgd -lgd -lm -lz -lpng
This fails because with lots of messages like
pngrutil.o(.text+0x1be2): undefined reference to `inflate'
So, I finally came to the conclusing that the libraries are out of order.
If I change the line to
gcc -o conftest -g -O2 conftest.c -lm -lgd -lpng -lz
it compiles. Of course, libpng needs libz.
Is the configure script not detecting that my lame slackware install needs
the libraries in a different order?
Thanks,
Leon
