PHP Bug Type: Session related
Bug description: Problem with using "trans-sid"
The following is to document a problem when using the trans-sid feature enabled with using the
latest beta release of PHP 4.0 .
Here is the scenario:
Dynamic links generated straight out of a database:
<?
// query database for the source id --> id stored in variable: "$id"
echo "<A HREF="some_file.php?src=$id">hello</A>";
....
?>
What ends up happening is this:
the following link is generated:
<A HREF="some_file.php?src=PHPSESSID=5298702D239292">hello</A>
As you can see, the PHPSESSID is appended BEFORE the variable's $id 's value is
determined. However, when the user comes back to this page and repeats the process, all is well - as
the PHPSESSID is not appended again. Thanks for your time and in making PHP the best scripting
languages ever. Check out our site: http://abcusd.fdns.net/
