Nathan,
The reason why I can't use a copy & delete approach is
because I have configure the ldap server to maintain
referential integrity on a particular attribute(like
uniquemember). IOW, one attribute in my directory
points to another dn. That was my first approach. If
I delete the entry then I get a broken reference. The
directory server needs to know that I am "renaming" a
dn so that it can maintain the referential integrity.
I thought also doing the same thing that you
suggested: modify the source for my own purposes.
Although I might end up doing that, I wanted to know
if there are immediate plans to add lpad functionality
to php to avoid reinventing the wheel.
Thanks,
Carlos
