to be honest - i don't know as i haven't really used GD. but i think gd is more
for creating stuff "on the fly" whereby Magick is i "real image processor".
we use Magick to convert, crop, reduce etc images, but that is all
"batch-oriented".
i want to use php3 as or language for batch oriented stuff as well (so we don't
have to use perl and php)... therefore i'm considering writing a native-php
interface to magick. i want to be able to do stuff like that:
<?php
$image = new Magick("my-photo-cd-file.pcd");
$image->setMaxWidthOrHeight(150); // create a thumbnail
$image->addWatermark("mycopyright.gif",0,0); // add my copyright logo to the
top left corner of the picture
Header("Content-Type: image/png");
$imge->writeAs("png");
?>
again, that's just an idea (very vage...;-) - but i could REALLY use it like
that!!!
