Hello,
I've this question in mind for a while : Why does
PHP interpret everything as case insensitive ?
For me, it has two downsides :
1) Every function has to lowercase the variable names,
it's time consumming.
2) It EncOURaGeS bAD CoDiNG StAnDArDs aS AlL vArIaBlEs
cAsE VaRIaNTs ArE AcCepTEd. ;-)
I totally agree (and don't want to start a thread on
this subject) that it cannot be changed anymore as
it would break sooooooo many applications written in
PHP, but how did this happen historically ?
Flavien, computer languages history curious ;-)
