Bug Type: Compile Failure
Description: Compile crashes and dies with --enable-trans-sid
Okay, upon further system testing (once my mental state had returned to something other that
"WHY WONT IT COMPILE") I've discovered the following things:
1) with or without --enable-trans-sid, the compile failed.
2) Both RC's failed, and latest CVS failed, but for diff. reasons.
Now, as stated above, this machine runs 2.3.99-pre7. Mysql was compiled with the 2.3.99-pre7
kernel. PHP was dying while compiling under it.
So, thinking maybe something was up, I grabbed 2.3.99-pre8. (The kernel is the only diff between
this machine and another one which compiled PHP just fine).
Compiled new kernel, attempted PHP. No luck. Reverted back to 2.2.15. Compiled PHP again, no
luck.
BTW, each time I recompiled PHP with a diff kernel version I made distclean first.
So then on 2.2.15 I made distclean mysql (version 3.22.32) and recompiled. Recompiled PHP, works
fine. I dunno if this helps you guys at all, but there it is. All the info I can think of. If you
want any other infos, feel free to ask.
