php_reg_replace() problems

Hi,
I have some trouble using php_reg_replace(). When doing
str = (char*)php_reg_replace( key, (*tmp)->value.str.val, str, TRUE, FALSE );
I get (at about 30% of requests) something like
FATAL: erealloc(): Unable to allocate 7 bytes
I don't really know, whats going wrong.Can anyone help.
