PHP Bug Type: MySQL related
Bug description: MySQL pconnect
mysql_pconnect is creating a new connection to mysql when it is run on a child process that
doesn't already have a connection to the mysql server.
We are running Apache 1.3.11 with a minimum of 50 child processes due to the amount of traffic and
have been able to replicate this on another server as well.
Eventually it creates too many persistent connections and overloads the mysql server.
We have turned off mysql.allow_persistent in the php3.ini but find this to be a workaround and not a
fix.
Please let us know what you know about this.
Thanks,
Jeff
