I've got it working with Redhat 6.2, but I didn't use the RPMs for redhat. I compiled my own apache 1.3.12 using DSO, compiled MySQL 3.22.32, and compiled php 4.0.0. Everything works fine for me. ----- Original Message ----- From: <mike738@hotmail.com> To: <php-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2000 1:46 AM Subject: [PHP-DEV] PHP 4.0 Bug #4638: no mysql connectivity > From: mike738@hotmail.com > Operating system: redhat 6.2 > PHP version: 4.0.0 Release > PHP Bug Type: MySQL related > Bug description: no mysql connectivity > > after i compile php4 with apache on redhat 6.2 > phpinfo generates this: > Last leak repeated 1 time > session.c(1240) : Freeing 0x081CF714 (10 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1250) : Freeing 0x081CEFDC (8 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1239) : Freeing 0x081B713C (5 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1248) : Freeing 0x081CDF5C (2 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1241) : Freeing 0x08159D44 (1 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1249) : Freeing 0x0818BDDC (1 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > session.c(1245) : Freeing 0x0818BDAC (1 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > zend_hash.c(185) : Freeing 0x081D1C0C (20 bytes), script=/web/world/test.php3 > > > and the scripts say this:Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (111) in /web/world/test/index.php3 on line 8 > > Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (111) in /web/world/test/index.php3 on line 10 > > Warning: MySQL: A link to the server could not be established in /web/world/test/index.php3 on line 10 > No data. > Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /web/world/test/index.php3 on line 23 > and everything worked fine with php3 > > > -- > PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> > To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net > For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net > To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net > >
