Perhaps this might be better posted to php-kb or php-install...
I discovered a problem affecting PHP4 compilation when enabling
LDAP (via OpenLDAP).
The build environment is GCC 2.95.2 under Solaris 8/i.
in ($LDAP_SOUCRE_DIR)/ext/ldap/ldap.c, tests are performed to determine
if sufficient support exists to use ldap_get_lderrno() -- these tests
incorrectly identify OpenLDAP as supporting this call. The resulting
undefined reference breaks compilation when PHP is compiled as an apache
module.
For the time being, I have manually modified ldap.c and redefined
LDAP_API_VERSION (to prevent references to this function in the
error-handling routines).
I believe this may affect other users.
