Request: Send a blank email to php-dev+get-19728@lists.php.net to get a copy of this message
From: farino@securenet.com.mx Operating system: RedHat Linux 6.2 / 2.2.14 PHP version: 4.0 Release Candidate 2 PHP Bug Type: Misbehaving function Bug description: mail() and imap_mail() fail to send messages The mail() and imap_mail() functions fail to send messages. <? echo mail("farino@baryon.linux.prv.mx","Test","Just a test"); ?> Outputs: 1 Same thing with imap_mail(); Config line: ./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --with-gd --with-freetype --with-imap=/usr/local/imap --with-ttf --with-zlib --enable-calendar --enable-track-vars --with-pgsql --without-mysql --with-mcal=/usr/local/libmcal Configured and compiled smoothly. The sendmail path is correctly set in php.ini: sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail I checked the /var/log/maillog, and this is what I've found (did it many times with the same results) May 29 23:09:55 Baryon sendmail[1582]: XAA01582: from=nobody, size=302, class=0, pri=302, nrcpts=0, msgid=<200005300409.XAA01582@Baryon.linux.prv.mx>, relay=nobody@localhost Please note the "nrcpts=0" Using the "sendmail -t" command in the shell, following the same order and format from the mail.c file in ext/standard dir, worked without any problem... I successfully sent mail this way using root / my_username / nobody accounts. It can't be a DNS problem... the DNS is running in this machine for linux.prv.mx (no problems at all with mail/sendmail/pine, etc...). What seems strange to me is the "nrcpts=0" section in the maillog file...
