PHP Bug Type: Compile Failure
Bug description: configuration-parser.c and Zend/zend-parser.c break the HP ANSI C optimizer
If PHP is compiled with optimization on (-O, +O1, +O2, etc), HP's ANSI C compiler produces many
internal
errors when compiling configuration-parser.c and Zend/zend-parser.c, probably resulting in incorrect
output.
The compiler requests that the files be compiled without optimization.
I turned on optimization by setting the CFLAGS environment variable prior to running configure.
Obviously, this is probably a compiler limitation.
I would prefer that files be optimized whenever possible. Would it be possible to either work around
this
limitation (perhaps by breaking up the file), or selectively turning off optimization for these
files in the Makefile?
